Sustainability, Ethics and Recycling

A core foundation in my business is reusing, repurposing and giving new life to antique items. Items that are heavy on character and beauty but gentle on the earth. Some ways I operate as a “green” business are:

Making my jewellery from recycled silver and repurposed silver items, some already 100-150 years old. This means that you wear jewellery that is not newly mined and that has a fascination life story!
I Reuse ALL of my scrap pieces of silver to make my molten silver collection
I Use recycled and recyclable gift boxes and my high quality gift bags can be used for many years to store and carry your jewellery and keep it tarnish free
I Hand-stamp my gift boxes instead of using branded stickers
I Use padded mailing bags which are recycled, recyclable, AND reusable
I do my best to minimize unnecessary packaging materials
I purchase materials from other small business owners as often as possible and am passionate about this, so you can feel good about supporting more than one small business- all in a single purchase.
I don’t travel to work! I work from my garden studio which is super insulated and cosy!
I buy all my leather from one tannery in Tuscany and it is all shipped together only a couple of times year.
I cut my leather carefully so to avoid waste and sell on my offcuts to people who make other smaller items from them
I make my leather goods and jewellery to last! It is not throwaway fashion but they are items that you will wear and treasure for years and years to come.
